Pat McGrath Labs – Lust 004 Lipstick

As much as I was incredibly excited to try out a new product from such a legendary makeup artist, I have to say that I was also really excited to get my hands on the Pat McGrath Labs Lust 004 Lipstick ($30) so I could play with the sequins – always a child at heart. Aside from the amazing packaging, I absolutely love the quality of this lipstick!

Hourglass – Ambient Lighting Edit

It’s that time of year again when beauty brands bring out limited edition palettes/kits/collections to kick off the holiday season. The first thing on my radar was definitely the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit – Surreal Light ($95), which has already received a lot of varying opinions. As a previous Hourglass limited edition palette owner, I had to get my hands on this year’s version.

Burberry – Cashmere Fluid Foundation

Sometimes you stumble across products that you meant to pick up ages ago but totally forgot about. That’s the case with the Burberry Cashmere Fluid Foundation ($60). After coming across it again during my regular beauty researching (aka shopping), I decided to pick it up.

My Boyfriend’s Skincare Routine

So my boyfriend (Jonathan) has been asking me to write this blog post for ages. His skin is more on the dry side and mine is more on the oily side so I started passing on skincare that wasn’t quite right for my skin type onto him. In doing so, I have created a bit of a skincare addict. Here is everything he loves using at the moment – hopefully it’s helpful for some of the men out there!

L’Occitane En Provence – Shea Nail and Cuticle Oil

I will be the first to admit that I struggle with keeping my nails and cuticles in tip-top shame. As a nervous/stressed nail and skin picker (I know, quite cringe) with very thin and dry nails, I need to find quick and easy solutions that make my fingers look better almost instantly. Enter the newest addition to my nail care routine – L’Occitane Shea Nail and Cuticle Oil ($22).

Hair Routine

A the ripe age of eight my mom’s hair stylist taught me how to blow dry my hair with a round brush and curl with hair with both a wand and a flat iron straightener. From that point on, I was a total hair junkie, constantly on the hunt for new products to create perfectly executed styles. As such, the products I’m using change quite frequently but I thought I would breakdown the products currently in my regular rotation at the moment:

Hylamide – Sensitive Fix Booster

If you follow me on Instagram you saw that I visited the recently opened Deciem store on Queen Street West for the first time last month. One of the products I picked up was the Hylamide Sensitive Fix Booster ($20) and as the lovely employee at the store told me, I should be able to see results around the two-week mark - so it’s time for a review.

Monthly Favourites – July 2016

The end of July means we’re starting to approach the end of summer in Canada. For me, it’s actually quite exciting because fall is definitely my favourite season but for now, lets recap the products I love during the height of the Canadian summer:

Skincare Empties - July 2016

It always feels great to totally use up a product but it feels even better to take stock of the products I used up and assess if I should buy them again or if that’s the end of their life in my drawers. Here is the rundown on the skincare products I’ve used up recently:

Skincare Empties - July 2016

Jo Malone – Black Cedarwood & Juniper Cologne

You know you love a fragrance brand when you bring two 100ml bottles back from Italy – even though you can get them at home. When I saw that a brand new Jo Malone store opened in Florence, Italy while I was there in June, I just couldn’t stop myself from buying a couple fragrances (in my defense, they were a bit cheaper than the Canadian prices).

NUDESTIX – Skin Glossing Pencil

I’m a total sucker for a good multitasking product. With so many different beauty bits to choose from, it’s nice to be able to check off multiple boxes with one product. One of my favourites at the moment is the NUDESTIX Skin Glossing Pencil ($28) to add radiance to my cheeks, lips and eyes.

Laura Mercier & NARS – New Favourite Base Combination

I walked into Sephora after a long day of work to unwind in my happy place. I’ve had my makeup on for 11 hours now without any touch-ups. Just as I start to pick up some new bits of makeup I hear someone say, “what foundation are you wearing, your skin looks flawless.” Shocked, as I also have a stress-induced zit making a home on chin, I look up and see one of the Sephora employees waiting for an answer – that’s when you know you’ve truly found a great base combination.

Too Faced – Cocoa Contour Kit

There are a lot of contour & highlight palettes out there that contain tons and tons of different shade, most of which a lot of people realistically won’t use on a daily basis. That being said, I searched high and low for a streamlined contour palette that is more simplified for daily use. Enter the Two Faced Cocoa Contour Chiseled To Perfection ($50) in Light to Medium. With two contour shades and two highlight shades, this is definitely one of the more simple palettes available.

Frank Body – Sweet Cheeks Kit

If you live for the #beauty #skincare hastags on Instagram, then you have definitely seen Franks Body products – before/after photos of various skin concerns and coffee-based body scrub all over beautiful people. Feeling more and more tempted by all the Instagram love, I purchased the Frank Body Sweet Cheeks Kit ($49.95) on the website a few months ago, which contains the full range of face products (Creamy Face Cleanser, Creamy Face Scrub & Everyday Moisturiser).

Tarte x Grav3yardgirl Swap Queen Palette & New Sephora Opening

Happy Friday everyone! Yesterday I went to the opening of the new Sephora store at Yonge & Eglinton (in Toronto). I live in the area and I also grew up in the area so the fact there is now a Sephora steps away from my couch is incredibly exciting (and dangerous for my bank account).

Monthly Favourites – June 2016

Happy July! I hope my fellow Canadians had a great Canada Day last Friday and I hope all the Americas out there are having a good Fourth of July today. These Favourites are kind of all over the map this time around; some makeup, some skincare and toothpaste, so keep reading to find out what I loved in June.

Urban Decay – Vice Lipsticks

When a beauty brand announces that they are launching 100 new and reformulated lipstick shades – makeup lovers from around the globe perk up and come to attention. With so many colours to choose from in six different formulas, I had to get my hands on the Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks ($21) the second I could.

OUAI – Soft Mousse

I am incredibly excited to write about the OUAI Soft Mousse ($35) because a. I really have loved using this and b. it only has two stars on the Sephora Canada website, and I think it should definitely have a lot more, so I have taken it upon myself to give this product some much deserved love.

New Mascaras – Charlotte Tilbury & Smashbox

Over the past month or so I’ve been testing two mascaras – the Legendary Lashes Mascara from Charlotte Tilbury ($38) and the Smashbox Indecent Exposure Mascara ($25). I’m usually not a mascara girl but I recently started the hunt for the best of the best. We all want mascara to work miracles on our lashes – extend, define, add volume – and I’m taking on the challenge to find the mascara that does that perfect job.
