I have to start off this blog by apologizing for my absence. Somehow, I managed to loose my camera, making it quite difficult to put together my blog posts (I love my iPhone but it really wasn’t cutting it). I finally have my camera back and it’s time to get the ball rolling again!
With the weather going back and forth from warm to cool last month, I feel like I switched up my makeup routine quite often. Despite the frantic change in weather; there are a few products that I just couldn’t put down last month.
CHANEL Ombres Contraste Duo in 20 Taupe-Delicat ($42): I was rummaging through my mom’s makeup stash one day trying to find an eyeliner and I stumbled across this eyeshadow duo. She bought it a while ago but has never used it, so I thought she wouldn’t mind if I took it off her hands (she still has no clue). The eyeshadows are really nicely pigmented and compliment each other perfectly. Delicat is a light, shimmery beige-peach colour that I put all over my lid. Then, I use Taupe, a more matte warm brown, in the outer corner and crease. The eyeshadows are so smooth they’re almost cream-like in texture and blend seamlessly. I went to a lot of meetings and interviews this month and this duo was a great way to instantly achieve a sophisticated eye look.
Sephora Collection Pro Round Powder Brush #60 ($29-sale price $58 regular price): I love the Sephora Pro brushes, they are the best quality brushes for their price point. I picked this brush up on sale from Sephora online for $29 – total bargain! This is a huge, powder brush that covers a large portion of my face with only one swipe. When I was reading the comments, some people were complaining that it was too big, but that’s what I like about it. I find nothing more luxurious than warming up my complexion with bronzer applied with a huge powder brush. It picks up a good amount of product and distributes it quite evenly on my face without shedding at all. Easily put – I love this brush.
Marc Jacobs Kiss Pop Lip Color Stick in 602 Heartbreaker ($35): I instantly wanted one of these when I first saw pictures online. The Marc Jacobs Kiss Pops are matte lipsticks that add a great pop of bright, pigmented colour to the lips. I really loved Heartbreaker last month, a gorgeous matte pink-coral, to instantly add some fun to my everyday makeup look. These are matte, so they’re not incredibly hydrating, but I didn’t find that they were too over drying. I have to mention the packaging – it’s amazing! The Kiss Pops come in the most adorable chrome tubes that resemble crayons, they look so fun and luxurious at the same time!
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Demolition ($24): This is the eyeliner I was looking for when I found the CHANEL eyeshadow duo I talked about above. I had used this in the past and felt like I wanted to bring it back this month. Demolition is a deep, matte brown that is quite creamy and blendable when first applied but also has great lasting power. I find that after a long day a lot of eyeliner pencils have completely faded away and end up everywhere on my face except where eyeliner should be. I know that when I use this pencil my eyeliner will still be there (in the correct place) after a full day.
Have you tried any of these products? What beauty product did you love in September?
