A pile of empty beauty products has been forming in a big plastic container at the bottom of my sink. Since I decided to organize my gigantic beauty collection the other night, I’m finally getting around to doing my first empties post!
Here are the skincare products I finished up over the past few months:
Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution ($55): This product has Activated C, White Birch Extract and Peony Extract, which are supposed to help correct dark spots. Only a few minutes after I put it on, my skin was a lot more even and my hyperpigmentation significantly diminished. That being said, when I got about two thirds through the bottle, I stopped noticing a difference on my skin. I know that’s not unheard of with dark spot correcting products and I definitely found that to be true with this solution. That being said, I think it's definitely worth a shot if you suffer from dark spots and hyperpigmentation - especially since it is about $25 cheaper than most skin tone correcting products.
Andalou Beta Hydroxy Complex Recovery Cream ($25): I bought this at a health food store when I was still in Ottawa for school and I absolutely love it! I applied this on my skin at night and when I wake up in the morning, any redness or irritation on my skin was gone. The Fruit Stem Cell Complex is supposed to facilitating healing, willow bark extract should clarifying skin and help curb bacteria, and salicylic acid is said to even skin tone and texture. I can say that this cream does all those things and is absolutely great at calming, evening and hydrating my skin. Two thumbs up for this product.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate ($50): This is a product that most people have heard about and is often referred to as "magical". It’s the very first oil I ever used on my face and I swear by it – I’ve already started on my second bottle. This little product, full of essential oils, really makes my skin look smoother, visibly radiant and healthy. I think everyone out there, no matter what skin type you have should try this out. It's like a new, refreshed face overnight.
NUDE Purify Toning Water (no longer available): This is the first product I’ve ever tried from NUDE. I used to go to Sephora, pump and little drop of the toner on my hand, and be amazed with how soft my skin would feel. I had to buy a bottle and try it on my face. I have to say, I think it was more impressive on the back of my hand than on my face. I won’t spend too long talking about a product that isn't available anymore but it was a good toner, not great, no noticeable transformations.
