Monthly Favourites - August 2014

It’s that time again when I round up my most loved products of the past month. I made a lot of new beauty discoveries in August and dug up some older purchases that I had forgotten about. I hope you enjoy my favs!

Bobbi Brown Corrector in Bisque ($30): I picked this up a few months ago and loved it but somewhere along the way it got lost in the shuffle. I started using it again at the beginning of August and I haven’t put it down since. I think the Bobbi Brown Corrector is the best product out there for concealing dark under eye circles. The peach or pink toned concealer is meant to neutralize the colour of dark circles. It’s quite thick in the pot but loosens as I swirl my finger around and apply it under my eyes, I then go back in with a small Real Techniques Pointed Foundation Brush to blend it more evenly.  Poof! Dark circles are gone!

Benefit Hoola Bronzer ($36): This product is a cult favourite but I just used it for the first time this month. I got it in a Benefit 500 points reward from Sephora and I now know why it’s so popular. Hoola is a great matte bronzer that doesn’t look too dark or orange on my skin and really enhances my summer tan nicely. I’ve been using it to just warm up my complexion and to contour. We’ll see how I get on with it as my skin becomes paler in the fall but so far…a total winner!

Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in 02 Lots O’ Latte ($19): I did a full blog post on this earlier in the month so I won’t bore you with the details again but I have been using this at least five days a week this month. It’s just the easiest product to apply with no fuss and a flawless result. I’m not a morning person and this has totally saved me on days when I wake up late – thanks Clinique!

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipstick in 55 Romance ($39): This was actually a gift from my mom earlier this summer but it definitely graced my lips regularly in August. It’s a blue undertone pink that doesn’t have any shimmer in it and adds a great pop of colour to the lips. The Rouge Coco Shine formula is my favourite from Chanel because they are the most hydrating and easy to wear. I’ve been wearing Romance quite sheer during the day and I apply it more heavy-handedly in the evening.

Those are my favourites; let me know if you’ve tried any of these products and what you loved in August!
