Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick

Matte eye shadows are great but sometimes a shimmer and glitter is exactly what you need. The Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Sticks ($33) are a dream for glitter fanatics.

These sticks are jam packed with glitter; I actually don’t think I’ve ever tried a product that’s so glittery. They are very creamy when initially applied but when they set you’re left with an extremely glittery stain on the lids. Personally, this is a bit too much glitter for me to use daily but it does look quite nice when I apply a light layer over my eyelids.

I have two shades, Golden Pink (a very light, warm peach/pink) and Golden Bronze (a light bronze/gold colour). I usually wear these on their own, without any other eye shadow products. Both colours can be easily transitioned from day to night depending on how heavily they’re applied.

The not so great thing is that I found them quite difficult to work with. I realized that I really only have a few seconds to grab a brush and blend these out because the product sticks exactly where its applied. The good side of that is that they last on the lids for ages but I do find it a bit of a hassle to blend the glitter nicely. This is definitely a product you need time to practice with.

The packaging is in the iconic Bobbi Brown, minimalist black. The tubes are quite skinny, which makes them quite easy to slip in your makeup bag or purse if you are traveling or need to do your makeup on the go.

Overall, I think these sticks are more for glitter enthusiasts but if you’re willing to practice, even light glitter lovers can make these work. If you’re not too keen on working with these, I would try to get your hands on some Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleons to add some glitz to your lids.
