I absolutely loved October because fall was in full swing! Lots of layers, boots, jackets and berry lips – perfection! I actually resurrected a lot of products from last fall this October but fear not, with my birthday is coming up later this month and I know I’ll have a whole slew of new products to talk to you about. Here are a few things I loved in October.
NUDESTIX Eyebrow Stylus Pencil & Gel ($28): I wrote a full post on this recently so I won't go into too much detail in this post but basically, this is another fantastic product from NUDESTIX. The pencil is very smooth, easy to apply and lasts all day with no smudging. The gel on the other end of the stylus dispenses just the right amount of product to hold hairs in place without distributing clumps of gel on your brow. Definitely my must-try product of the month from a company I absolutely adore.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes ($41 each): I know this trio of blushes isn’t available anymore but I still love it. I think the Ambient Lighting Blushes are my favourite blushes out there, particularly in fall/winter, because they add a great iridescence to the cheeks – instantly brightening your complexion without looking shiny or glittery. All of these blushes are incredibly pigmented and last for ages. I know that Hourglass recently released a similar palette including the Ambient Lighting Powders, might be something to check out but even the individual blushes are great. My personal favourites are Diffused Heat (a vibrant coral) and Mood Exposure (a neutral, deep plum).
Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Berry ($26): These Fresh Sugar tinted lip balms are the first products I reach for when the weather gets a bit cooler. They are incredibly rich, hydrating balms that still pack a punch in the pigment department. Berry is a deep raspberry shade that’s great for fall/winter. This was definitely a handbag staple product for me in October, continuing into November.
CHANEL Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner in Casis ($35): This is one of those products that I always go back to. I love my Urban Decay eyeliners but not matter what, I always need to have at least one of these lying around. This CHANEL eyeliner is incredibly long lasting and creates an even, opaque line without any tugging. It’s incredibly long lasting and perfect for both top and bottom liner. Casis in particular is my go-to colour. I find this deep purple incredibly flattering and adds a little flare to your everyday liner. Day or night, I swear by this product.
Jo Malone Birch & Black Pepper: This is a little cheeky because I don’t think you can purchase this scent anymore (it was part of the Rock of Ages Collection) – but I wore it daily in October. Birch & Black Pepper is a great spicy scent that’s quite woody and warm – it reminds me of being in small restaurant with big wooden tables. If you can get your hands on this definitely give it a sniff.
