Holiday Gift Guide

As great as the holidays are, it can be a bit daunting to figure out exactly what to get your family and friends. From work parties to family dinners, New Year’s festivities and Secret Santa’s, I think we can all use a little help with some gift ideas. I’ve done my best to give you a few suggestions.

Left to right: Mystic, Sin, Satan

For your friends and yourself…
NUDESTIX #TooCute Limited Edition Holiday Set ($28): This is a set of 3 mini Nudestix Lip + Cheek Pencils in Mystic (a soft nude), Sin (a more berry pink shade) and Satan (a limited edition matte cherry red). This is a great gift because all of these pencils and staple shades that will work for everyone, either on the lips or cheeks. This is also a great gift for yourself as you start the holiday party circuit. All you need are these three pencils to take you from day (Mystic or Sin) to night (Satan). I think this is out of stock on the Sephora site but if you can get your hands on it, it’s fantastic! Alternatively, any of the NUDESTIX Lip + Cheek pencils make great gifts. They’re very wearable pencils that are comfortable on the lips and cheeks, incredibly pigmented and travel-friendly. I've done tons of reviews on all the NUDESTIX products so look around the blog for some other recommendations.

For the (Canadian) homebody…
Smells Like Canada Candles ($28): Smells Like Canada makes a selection of candles with scents inspired by various towns, cities and landmarks in Canada. Since I’m a proud Torontonian, I bought Toronto Smoke, a sweet and smokey scent that I’ve been burning everyday for a week. This candle burns very evenly, lets off the perfect amount of fragrance and looks like it’s going to last for a very long time. The good thing about these candles is that you can get the scent that’s most closely connected to the person you’re buying it for, without really having to worry about their taste in scents.

For the skincare obsessed sibling/bestie…
Foreo Deep Cleansing Essentials with Magnetic Luna Mini ($159): If you’re like me, then you’re always curious about these skincare gadgets but you’re not really ready to take the risk and spend the money to try them out. This is quite an expensive gift, but if you know someone who’s been curious about using a Foreo Luna, these kits with the cleansers are great. I’m still testing mine out but I was so excited to get one for my birthday because I could finally try it out!

For the bearded boy…
Cutthroat Shaving Company Beard Balm ($22): My boyfriend has a beard and I think he’s actually more particular about his beard products than I am with my hair, skincare and makeup products combined! This is one of the only beard products he really enjoys. He prefers a cream consistency to an oil but he still wants something that’s very moisturizing. This beard balm is a smooth cream that conditions the hair, and helps to style and hold shape. It has a light nutty/woody scent that smells great and I don’t imagine it would bother anyone who is sensitive to scents. Definitely worth checking out for any bearded men in your life – it gets a big thumbs up from my very picky boyfriend.
