I have to say, it has taken me a long time to really appreciate a nude lip. I’ll wear a sheer blue undertone pink any day of the week but I had to search high and low to find nude lip shades that I really like. That being said, here are my fav nude lip picks!
The latest addition to my lip collection is the Marc Jacobs Beauty (P)Outliner Longwear Lip Pencil in Honey(bun) 302 ($30). This pencil is a great light rose/pinky nude that applies effortlessly on the lips. I’m always worried about pencils accentuating any dry bits on my lips – this doesn’t do that but it’s not particularly hydrating either, I like to apply some of my Chanel Hydra Beauty ($50) on my lips beforehand. It leaves quite a matte finish on the lips and lasts for a number of hours without having to reapply. The colour is great because it’s a nude but it doesn’t make me look like all the life has been sucked out of my face. It’s just pink enough to add a bit of colour but still looks very neutral.
My other nude lip pick is MAC Patisserie ($19) – a product I bought after reading a great review form Vivianna Does Makeup. This shade is more “nude” than the Marc Jacobs pencil - this is less pink and more of a “my lips but better” colour. It has a slight sheen on the finish and is very comfortable on the lips. It also has just enough colour that I don’t look dead and lifeless (clearly quite a concern for me), it’s just a really easy lipstick to wear daily and it has definitely been my go-to nude/neutral lip a few months now.
Those are my nude lip picks – what nude do you love?
