Two Little Nudes

I know it’s silly but I totally have a soft spot for miniature products. I always use the oh it’s going to be so handy, the perfect handbag product excuse – I can always talk my way into believing I need more beauty products. That being said, these mini nude lipsticks from Marc Jacobs Beauty and Kat Von D are absolutely divine.

The Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel ($38 for regular product) actually came in a set from Sephora (damn those travel products by the cash), which came with a mirror and a mini Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Blacquer. The shade 110 Role Play is a light rose toned nude. The formula is creamy and comfortable on the lips, and leaves a slightly satin finish. The lasting power is alright, you’ll get a few hours out of it, but the good part about a nude is that it’s never a total catastrophe if you loose a bit of product.

The Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick ($26 for regular product) in Lovecraft was one of the 100-point rewards from Sephora. This shade is similar to Role Play but it’s a bit darker and has more of a purple undertone. This formula is quite matte but not heavy, uncomfortable or patchy on the lips. As this is a matte formula, it does last a bit longer than the Marc Jacobs lipstick but I wouldn’t have too many coffees if you really want it to last. As someone who’s not the biggest nude lipstick wearer, I really appreciate the deeper tone of this lipstick – perfect for anyone who finds that nudes usually wash them out.

I really love these two lipsticks; they’re the perfect, no fail everyday lip shades that I keep reaching for on busy mornings. I would say that it is definitely worth checking out the full size products as well.

Have you tried these lipsticks? What’s your favourite nude?
