I must say, I’m usually not a huge summer lover but I was all about the warm Toronto weather in July. That being said, it’s fitting that in addition to all my beauty favourites, I’ve also included my newest pair of shades. Here are all the things I loved in July:
Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in Dark Pearl ($32): I got this ages ago but with the recent launch of Charlotte Tilbury products in Canada, I thought I would start incorporating this into my daily routine again. Colour Chameleons are eyeshadow pencils that are meant to enhance your natural eye colour. Dark Pearl is a deep purple-esque brown, meant to accentuate my brown eyes. These are incredibly pigmented, last all day long and I do find that the colour really does compliment my brown eyes beautifully. You can definitely wear these on their own or as a base for powder eye shadows - they work brilliantly either way. Claps all around for Charlotte!
Tom Ford Eye Color Quad in Silvered Topaz ($88): This is another product that I got ages ago but I’ve never actually talked about it on my blog. This is the only eyeshadow quad from Tom Ford that I own and after “lending” it to my mom months ago, I’ve finally taken it back. The shadows are incredibly pigmented, buttery and last longer than any other powder eyeshadows I’ve tried, without any creasing. Silvered Topaz has a great range or cool toned colours; a silvery grey, a cool mauve, a deep purple tinted matte brown and a glittery champagne colour that adds great dimension to this icy eye look. I know that cool/silvery toned shadows aren't for everyone but this Was definitely my go-to night out quad in July.
Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Matte Sculpting Lipstick in Kendall Jenner’s Shade Restless ($32): I did a full blog post on this lipstick and although I do find it a bit drying on the lips, I just couldn’t stop myself from reaching for it regularly in July. It’s a brilliant orange – red shade that just screams summer. The pigmentation is great and it lasts for a good few hours without buying, just make sure you apply some lip balm beforehand.
Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer ($37): For some reason, I can’t seem to get my hands on my shade in the Urban Decay Naked Concealer; it’s sold out everywhere! After running around Toronto trying to find it I decided to just go for a different option, that’s when I picked up this Make Up For Ever option. The main draw is that it’s waterproof and after being stuck in a rainstorm over the weekend, I can definitely say that it is in fact waterproof – when I finally made it home my concealer was still holding strong (very impressive). This is a full coverage concealer (as the name suggests) that goes on as a thick cream but dries very quickly and evenly on the skin. I really like this for spots and I like to apply a couple dots under my eyes (over one of my more preferred under eye concealers) if I’m wearing glasses/sunglasses to help keep my concealer in place.
Ray-Ban Clubmaster Classic Sunglasses ($200): I love sunglasses; they are absolutely one of my weaknesses (particularlt Ray-Ban sunglasses). I find that a cool pair of interesting sunglasses can totally transform your look – I swear by a cool pair sunglasses. At first, I was slightly hesitant about the style but I absolutely love them. They’re definitely more interesting than the Wayfarers, which I still love, and I really enjoy that they have the little nose pieces so all my makeup doesn’t rub off in the warm weather. This specific pair has a matte black frame and blue polarized lenses, which I think gives them that extra special edge. I didn’t wear any other sunglasses for the whole month!
