Generally, I try to keep my everyday beauty routine quite short (because I’m really not a morning person), but I recently added a new step to my routine – the Bioderma Sébium Pore Refiner ($30).
This pore refiner claims to tighten pores and refine your skin’s texture, preventing blemishes and leaving a matte finish on your skin. I'm not really a big believer in the whole tightening pores thing, but my main draw to this product is its ability to even out the texture of my skin and mattify my generally oily t-zone, leaving a perfect canvas for makeup.
When I use this, my foundation and concealer sit much better and longer on my skin, more even with less movement throughout the day. It also really helps to control the oily shine throughout my t-zone. I just apply a small pea sized amount all over my face (focusing on my t-zone) before I apply my makeup and it works perfectly.
The texture of this is between a light moisturizer and a primer. It’s very light and leaves a velvety finish on the skin, not like the silicone based primers (which I can’t bare to put on my face - far too uncomfortable for me). This is my happy medium; it feels like a moisturizer but still creates an even base for makeup.
I’m not sure if it really prevents blemishes, my skin has been pretty clear lately but don't think it’s related to this one product alone. Regardless, I would definitely recommend checking this out if you have combination/oily, blemish prone skin and you need your makeup to last all day.
Another winner from Bioderma in my books!
