2015 Makeup Favourites

I certainly tried a lot of different makeup products in 2015 but there are definitely a few brands/products that stand out from the rest.

For foundation, I’m sticking with a product that I have used bottles and bottles of -  CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua. It’s lightweight but has good, buildable coverage. I can use this in the summer and winter months, and it’s incredibly travel friendly. It also looks particularly great when applied with the Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush. On top of this foundation, I do not go a day without my Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. It’s very full coverage but feels incredibly light on the skin and does not move at all. It can last all day and night without fail, both under my eyes and on any blemishes. To set my foundation and concealer, I love the velvety Charlotte Tilbury Air Brush Flawless Finish Powder. It sits on the skin beautifully and leaves a blurred finish that's incredibly flattering. This powder really brings my foundation and concealer together for a completely uniform complexion.

For eyes, 2015 was the year of eyeshadow pencils/sticks for me. My favourites by far are the NUDESTIX Magnetic Eye Colors. Light shades and dark shades, they’re all fantastic. These pencils blend incredibly easily, last all day and create the perfect day to night looks. For mascara, I’ve been using the Maybelline The Rocket Mascara daily. I find that it does a really good job at separating my lashes and adds a good amount of volume. My favourite eyeliner is still the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Demolition. I have been using this eyeliner for ages and I don’t think I’ll ever give it up. It’s a very dark brown that will actually last for 24 hours (unfortunately, I know that first hand). You do get a few minutes to smudge it out before it sets (I'm a huge fan of a little smudgey eyeliner) and a little Bioderma will take it all off at night. To finish the eyes, I’ve also been obsessed with the NUDESTIX Eyebrow Stylus & Gel. Really creamy and easy to draw short, natural looking strokes that won’t budge throughout the day – another winner from NUDESTIX!

Back to the complexion, the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow is the best bronzer – highlighter duo I have tried. The bronzer is a great natural bronze shade and the highlighter has the most amazing iridescent glow – I really can’t live without this duo. For blush, adding to the “good glow,” are the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes. Every shade I’ve tried is very pigmented and adds a nice glow, without looking too shiny or glittery.

Lastly, I can’t forget about the lips. My favourite dark lipstick is the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Love Liberty. This is a great plum red shade that has a matte finish but feels incredibly comfortable on the lips. For a more nude shade (ok, not so nude but more natural) I can't get enough of the NUDESTIX Lip + Cheek Pencil in Sin. This is a great rosy pink that’s feels very moisturizing on the lips. Definitely my go-to quick lip pick. I’m not a huge gloss person but I also really love the YSL Volupte Tint-In-Oil. This really conditions the lips but also leaves a strong tint that will last through several coffee meetings.

That concludes my 2015 makeup favourites. Have a great 2016!
