I think I can classify the products I try into three catogoeis: the products I love right away, the ones I never want you use again and the ones that grow on me. Even though I took my time with this product, I have definitely fallen in love with this formula. I’ve been using the Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(marcable) Foundation Concentrate ($69) for about six months now and I am so excited to share my full, thoroughly tried and tested review.
This is an oil-free, very pigmented thick cream that leaves your skin looking naturally flawless. It doesn't cling to dry patches or excentuate an oily t-zone. You can also mix this foundation concentrate with your moisturizer to create a light, customizable base.
Using the dot applicator, I apply four small dots on my face – on my chin, forehead and cheeks. Then I buff the product into my skin to get a medium coverage, but this can be built up to a very full coverage with the addition of a few more dots of products. This foundation feels incredibly light on the skin (similar to a light coverage foundation) and leaves a semi-matte finish , definitely not a true matte but not particularly glowy.
It claims to last for 24 hour, which I haven’t personally tried, but I can honestly say that this lasts on my skin are a good 12 hours with a bit of concealer where needed and powder. I am very impressed with the lasting power of this. Most foundations start fading on my chin around the four hour mark, but even at the end of an eight hour day there is still plenty of product on my chin and the rest of my face.
The one negative is that I really cannot stand the packaging. After a few uses the product starts to leak through the sealed cap. I also decided to travel with this, because I love the formula so much, and it was a disaster. The foundation was all over the place.
Even though this foundation makes such a mess I still can’t stop using it. If you have any blemishes or hyperpigmentation, or you just want flawless skin for everyday or a special occasion, I would definitely get a sample of this from Sephora and try it out. It leaves an incredibly even, natural base that will last all day.
If I can come up with an alternative storing option I’ll let you guys know!
