Monthly Favourites – March 2016

Just like the last monthly favourties, March was all about rediscovering some old favourties, continuing to use staple products and buying some new bits as well. Here are my most used and loved products from March:

Jo Malone London Wild Strawberry & Parsley Cologne ($80): I’m still completely obsessed with Wood Sage & Sea Salt but I just can’t stop sniffing this new fragrance. Part of The Herb Garden collection, Wild Strawberry & Parsley has a great peppery/herby scent right at the forefront, which is balanced out by a hint of sweetness at the end. This expertly crafted fragrance is perfect as the weather gets a bit warmer (not currently in Toronto – with the whole snow storm thing) and I know I’ll wear this scent a ton in the summer months.

Bobbi Brown Longwear Cream Eyeshadow Stick in Golden Bronze ($34): I am a huge fan of eyeshadow sticks and pencils. They’re incredibly quick and easy to use, long lasting and easily portable. This Golden Bronze stick from Bobbi Brown is a fantastic, creamy formula that adds a great deep gold wash to the lids that won’t budge all day long. The shimmer in the eyeshadow stick has a great reflective property that compliments a deep lip very well.

YSL Volupte Sheer Candy Balm Crystal Color in Sweet Fig ($40): This is one of my favourite lip products. This balm is a hydrating, sheer lip product that still has great colour payoff. Sweet Fig is a deep red shade and is perfect for all you dark/bold lip lovers who feel like using something more comfortable and moisturizing. The colour doesn’t last forever but its sheer finish and deliciously sweet scent makes it quite easy and enjoyable to apply throughout the day.

Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder ($26): As the weather starts getting warmer (again, not in Toronto right now) it becomes increasingly more important for me to reduce shine throughout my t-zone. This Bourjois powder does a great job at mattifying my complexion while still feeling very light on the skin. This also doesn’t look patchy when you want to reapply throughout the day. I definitely haven’t found a better powder out there at this price point and it still beats out some powders that are more than double the price.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in Light Neutral ($35): I’ve written about this multiple times but as I’m close to the end of my second tube and about to buy my third, I thought it was time to reinforce my complete and total devotion for this product. The creamy concealer is great for under eye concealing and on blemishes, and its incredibly pigmented formula means a little goes a long way. This is a completely reliable and effective concealer that I can’t be without right now.
