L’Occitane En Provence – Shea Nail and Cuticle Oil

I will be the first to admit that I struggle with keeping my nails and cuticles in tip-top shape. As a nervous/stressed nail and skin picker (I know, quite cringe) with very thin and dry nails, I need to find quick and easy solutions that make my fingers look better almost instantly. Enter the newest addition to my nail care routine – L’Occitane Shea Nail and Cuticle Oil ($22).

I picked up this product at the L’Occitane store a while ago but I have only been using it regularly for about a week and a half or so now. The thin oil is dispensed through a brush end and can be applied directly to the nails and cuticles. It contains 30 per cent shea oil to condition and nourish cuticles while strengthening the nails - I've always been a fan of L'Occitane'a Shea products.

I have used this oil before and after nail polish application and it works effectively either way as the oil dries very quickly. When applied before polish, it helps to create a smoother base and I found this has also helped to prevent stains on my nails from dark or bright polishes. Additionally, the oil effectively nourishes dry, cracking cuticles and general skin around my finders. Some areas, like around my thumb, are extremely cracked and dry, and this oil soothes the area instantly while also providing lasting hydration.

I really love the ease of this product. It really doesn’t add any more time to my nail routine and I can just quickly apply this before I get out the door or when I’m on the go because it dries so quickly.

Anyone else out there who needs help in the dry nail and cuticle department, and is also a bit lazy with their nail care, should definitely give this a try. My nails and cuticles have been incredibly nourished and smooth since I started using this oil.
