As a girl with an oily t-zone, a good powder is always my partner in crime. The Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Power has been a makeup bag staple for me for years. I started using this powder when I was in university. It was the only thing that would keep my face relatively shine free on nights out in crowded bars and sold out concerts.
If I’m honest, I probably use the CHANEL Mat Lumière powder more often these days (blog about that powder coming soon) but it’s always nice to go back to an old faithful. For the past week I’ve been using the Make Up For Ever powder exclusively, which has rekindled my love affair with it. This powder never lets me down, it always mattifies my makeup just enough so I’m not shiny at all but it doesn’t make my face look flat and cakey.
I’ve actually never purchased the full size of this, it’s frequently a points perks at Sephora and they also sell the mini sizes of the powder by the cash. This product lasts for ages, three years later and I only just started my second mini sized powder. That being said, if I ever go through the three mini sizes that I currently have, I would definitely purchase the full size for $39 at Sephora.
This powder is translucent so even through it’s white it doesn’t add any white colour to my complexion (at least it doesn't on my light skin tone). It instantly mattifies my makeup for hours, even on extremely humid summer days. It has an incredibly light and soft texture that feels invisible on my skin. It’s also very easy to reapply, if needed, without compromising my makeup at all.
This is definitely one of my must-have products. Yes, I love my CHANEL powder but I find that this does a better job at keeping my oily t-zone at bay. Oily girls, this is a must try, and look out for my CHANEL powder review coming Friday!
