Hair Routine

A the ripe age of eight my mom’s hair stylist taught me how to blow dry my hair with a round brush and curl with hair with both a wand and a flat iron straightener. From that point on, I was a total hair junkie, constantly on the hunt for new products to create perfectly executed styles. As such, the products I’m using change quite frequently but I thought I would breakdown the products currently in my regular rotation at the moment:

OUAI – Soft Mousse

I am incredibly excited to write about the OUAI Soft Mousse ($35) because a. I really have loved using this and b. it only has two stars on the Sephora Canada website, and I think it should definitely have a lot more, so I have taken it upon myself to give this product some much deserved love.

Monthly Favourites – June 2015

Happy favourites time everyone! The majority of products included in this collection of Favourites are products that ended up being essential on my recent vacation in Italy. I’m not going to bore you with another eyeshadow pencil/stick shout out (although I did bring those with me) but these are a few (other) products that I travelled with in June.

Monthly Favourties – May 2015

I know I say this every time but I LOVE monthly favourites posts! In May, I found some new beauty gems and definitely rediscovered some old ones. From hair to lips, eyes and brows, I have it all covered.

Monthly Favourites - April 2015

Hello again beautiful readers - apologies for my unexpected disappearance! In the name of full disclosure, my camera was misplaced during the recent move to my new condo and after taking my newly organized living space apart, I finally found it. The one good thing that came out of losing my camera, putting blogging on hold in the process, is that I have some GREAT new beauty discoveries to share – starting with my April Favourites!

Best of Beauty 2014 - Best Beauty Discoveries

Happy New Year! 2014 was a great year but I’m extremely excited to embark on new adventures in 2015. In 2014, I started to take my love of everything beauty more seriously and managed to expand my already giant collection of beauty products. With 2015 beginning today, I wanted to round up my best beauty discoveries of the past year.

Monthly Favourties – December 2014

I hope everyone had an amazing holiday! I took a little holiday break from blogging (hence why there are two Monthly Favourites posts in a row) but now that I am full to the brim with turkey and cookies, I am back in full force. December for me has been all about adjusting to the cold weather and putting down some old favourites to make room for some new additions.

Monthly Favourites - November 2014

November has definitely been a great month; I had my 23rd birthday, ran my first 5k, and bought A LOT of beauty products (although I seem to do that every month).

Giant VIB Rouge Sephora Haul

Last night I went to the Sephora VIB Rouge Holiday event at Yorkdale Shopping Centre. The event was jam packed with drinks, treats, makeovers, facials, free samples and most importantly – 20% off all purchases!! Of course, I couldn’t help myself and I managed to do a bit of damage at the store. I haven’t tried most of these products before (two of which are for my mom) but I thought I would let you guys know what caught my eye at Sephora, in no particular order.

Aveda Hair Staples

I was getting ready this morning and I was hit by the realization that I have been using two Aveda hair products for six years now – insane! The products are the Brilliant Damage Control spray and the Phomollient Styling Foam, which I was first introduced to through my hair salon. After six years, I think it’s about time I give these products a proper review.

Hair Rescue - Phyto Phytokératine Repairing Serum

To be honest, this is a product that I really did not want to like.  At $39 for 30ml, the Phyto Phytokératine Repairing Serum is definitely a pricey bit of hair care. After using it for about four months now, I have to say that it has made my hair look noticeably healthier – very important since I have not cut my hair in over 10 months and I use a blow drier almost everyday.

Desperate For Big Hair

As a girl with long and thin hair, I am always on the hunt for volumizing and thickening hair products. Unfortunately, I have extremely greasy roots, but I have made it my mission to find products that add the best oomph to my hair. Both of these products add fullness and thickness to my hair on different days of the week.
