Hourglass – Ambient Lighting Edit
It’s that time of year again when beauty brands bring out limited edition palettes/kits/collections to kick off the holiday season. The first thing on my radar was definitely the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit – Surreal Light ($95), which has already received a lot of varying opinions. As a previous Hourglass limited edition palette owner, I had to get my hands on this year’s version.
Laura Mercier & NARS – New Favourite Base Combination
I walked into Sephora after a long day of work to unwind in my happy place. I’ve had my makeup on for 11 hours now without any touch-ups. Just as I start to pick up some new bits of makeup I hear someone say, “what foundation are you wearing, your skin looks flawless.” Shocked, as I also have a stress-induced zit making a home on chin, I look up and see one of the Sephora employees waiting for an answer – that’s when you know you’ve truly found a great base combination.
The Estée Edit By Estée Lauder – Flash Photo Powder
There is a new collection from Estée Lauder in town and I was instantly attracted to it. Aimed at the millennial generation with it-girls Kendall Jenner and Irene Kim at the helm, The Estée Edit’s hip collection of beauty products have been at the top of my wish list for a few weeks now. The one product that really caught my eye was the Flash Photo Powder ($40). It’s not everyday that you see “oil-absorbing” and “brightening” on the same product, so I had to try it out.
Two Powders, Two Price Points, Two Loves
I’ve said it before on this blog but I don’t think I can say it enough – I absolutely need to finish my makeup with a powder. Besides locking in my makeup and helping to reduce shine through my t-zone, I think it just makes my complexion more even and my makeup more cohesive.
Monthly Favourites - April 2015
Hello again beautiful readers - apologies for my unexpected disappearance! In the name of full disclosure, my camera was misplaced during the recent move to my new condo and after taking my newly organized living space apart, I finally found it. The one good thing that came out of losing my camera, putting blogging on hold in the process, is that I have some GREAT new beauty discoveries to share – starting with my April Favourites!
Best of Beauty 2014 – Best Products of 2014 Part 1
My last blog post was my best beauty discoveries of 2014, but now we’re going to get a bit more specific. This is Part 1 of my best products of 2014. This is Part 1 of my best beauty products of 2014, which are my best skincare, complexion and nail products. Part 2 (going up tomorrow) will showcase eyes, lips, hair and fragrance.
CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Loose Powder Foundation – The Verdict
This is a review that I have been dying to do. I know there have been mixed reviews of the CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Loose Powder Foundation ($79), so I really wanted to wait a couple of weeks before I made my final decision. The verdict is…I love it!
CHANEL Powders + CHANEL Makeup Event
I admit it; I am a CHANEL base addict. I think when it comes to base products (i.e. foundations, powders, concealers) CHANEL really does a great job at creating products that make your skin look flawless. My “holy grail” powder is the CHANEL Mat Lumière powder ($64) but I recently branched out from my staple product and tried the CHANEL Vitalumière Compact Douceur ($66). Even though the packaging is exactly the same, there are some significant differences between the two.
Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder
As a girl with an oily t-zone, a good powder is always my partner in crime. The Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Power has been a makeup bag staple for me for years. I started using this powder when I was in university. It was the only thing that would keep my face relatively shine free on nights out in crowded bars and sold out concerts.
