My Boyfriend’s Skincare Routine

So my boyfriend (Jonathan) has been asking me to write this blog post for ages. His skin is more on the dry side and mine is more on the oily side so I started passing on skincare that wasn’t quite right for my skin type onto him. In doing so, I have created a bit of a skincare addict. Here is everything he loves using at the moment – hopefully it’s helpful for some of the men out there!

L’Occitane En Provence – Shea Nail and Cuticle Oil

I will be the first to admit that I struggle with keeping my nails and cuticles in tip-top shame. As a nervous/stressed nail and skin picker (I know, quite cringe) with very thin and dry nails, I need to find quick and easy solutions that make my fingers look better almost instantly. Enter the newest addition to my nail care routine – L’Occitane Shea Nail and Cuticle Oil ($22).

Hylamide – Sensitive Fix Booster

If you follow me on Instagram you saw that I visited the recently opened Deciem store on Queen Street West for the first time last month. One of the products I picked up was the Hylamide Sensitive Fix Booster ($20) and as the lovely employee at the store told me, I should be able to see results around the two-week mark - so it’s time for a review.

Monthly Favourites – July 2016

The end of July means we’re starting to approach the end of summer in Canada. For me, it’s actually quite exciting because fall is definitely my favourite season but for now, lets recap the products I love during the height of the Canadian summer:

Skincare Empties - July 2016

It always feels great to totally use up a product but it feels even better to take stock of the products I used up and assess if I should buy them again or if that’s the end of their life in my drawers. Here is the rundown on the skincare products I’ve used up recently:

NUDESTIX – Skin Glossing Pencil

I’m a total sucker for a good multitasking product. With so many different beauty bits to choose from, it’s nice to be able to check off multiple boxes with one product. One of my favourites at the moment is the NUDESTIX Skin Glossing Pencil ($28) to add radiance to my cheeks, lips and eyes.

Frank Body – Sweet Cheeks Kit

If you live for the #beauty #skincare hastags on Instagram, then you have definitely seen Franks Body products – before/after photos of various skin concerns and coffee-based body scrub all over beautiful people. Feeling more and more tempted by all the Instagram love, I purchased the Frank Body Sweet Cheeks Kit ($49.95) on the website a few months ago, which contains the full range of face products (Creamy Face Cleanser, Creamy Face Scrub & Everyday Moisturiser).

Happy July! I hope my fellow Canadians had a great Canada Day last Friday and I hope all the Americas out there are having a good Fourth of July today. These Favourites are kind of all over the map this time around; some makeup, some skincare and toothpaste, so keep reading to find out what I loved in June.

Monthly Favourites – April 2016

I feel like I had a lot of products I wanted to talk about this month but I didn't want to spoil some of the longer feature posts I'm planning, so here is the curated shortlist of the things I really loved in April. Stay tuned from some more thorough reviews of new products coming up in the next few weeks.

KYPRIS – Clearing Serum & Moonlight Catalyst

I am definitely a fan of the medical/doctor skincare brands but it’s always great to find an effective collection of natural beauty products. Based on a selection of organic, wild crafted and sustainable ingredients, KYPRIS beauty products are 100% natural alternatives for all your skincare needs.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate

There are the products you love right away, the ones you never want you use again and the ones that grow on you. Even though I took my time with this product, I have definitely fallen in love with this formula. I’ve been using the Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(marcable) Foundation Concentrate ($69) for about six months now and I am so excited to share my full review.

Monthly Favourites – January 2016

A new year, a new round of favourites. Admittedly, some of the products/brands were 2015 discoveries but these were definitely all daily products for me in January.

Holiday Gift Guide

As great as the holidays are, it can be a bit daunting to figure out exactly what to get your family and friends. From work parties to family dinners, New Year’s festivities and Secret Santa’s, I think we can all use a little help with some gift ideas. I’ve done my best to give you a few suggestions.

Two Powders, Two Price Points, Two Loves

I’ve said it before on this blog but I don’t think I can say it enough – I absolutely need to finish my makeup with a powder. Besides locking in my makeup and helping to reduce shine through my t-zone, I think it just makes my complexion more even and my makeup more cohesive.

L’Oréal Beauty in Bloom Warehouse Sale Finds

Since I was a child, my mom has been taking me to the L’Oréal warehouse sale. Admittedly, I really didn’t enjoy it when I was young but now I definitely appreciate the beauty discounts. For those of you who aren’t aware, this is an bi-annual sale that has discounted makeup/skincare/hair products from all the brands that are part of the L’Oréal family. Here is the list of what I picked up at the sale on Sunday.

Body Cream To Love

I have to admit that I have never been a huge body cream/lotion fan. No matter how dry my skin gets, I can never get into a regular routine with any sort of moisturizing body product. That being said, I’m starting to change my tune after being sent the Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Body Cream ($15).

Monthly Favourties – December 2014

I hope everyone had an amazing holiday! I took a little holiday break from blogging (hence why there are two Monthly Favourites posts in a row) but now that I am full to the brim with turkey and cookies, I am back in full force. December for me has been all about adjusting to the cold weather and putting down some old favourites to make room for some new additions.

Monthly Favourites - November 2014

November has definitely been a great month; I had my 23rd birthday, ran my first 5k, and bought A LOT of beauty products (although I seem to do that every month).

Skincare Empties

A pile has been forming at the bottom of my sink, in a big plastic container, full of empty skincare products. Since I decided to organize my gigantic beauty collection the other night, I’m finally getting around to doing my first empties post!
