Pat McGrath Labs – Lust 004 Lipstick

As much as I was incredibly excited to try out a new product from such a legendary makeup artist, I have to say that I was also really excited to get my hands on the Pat McGrath Labs Lust 004 Lipstick ($30) so I could play with the sequins – always a child at heart. Aside from the amazing packaging, I absolutely love the quality of this lipstick!

Hourglass – Ambient Lighting Edit

It’s that time of year again when beauty brands bring out limited edition palettes/kits/collections to kick off the holiday season. The first thing on my radar was definitely the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit – Surreal Light ($95), which has already received a lot of varying opinions. As a previous Hourglass limited edition palette owner, I had to get my hands on this year’s version.

Burberry – Cashmere Fluid Foundation

Sometimes you stumble across products that you meant to pick up ages ago but totally forgot about. That’s the case with the Burberry Cashmere Fluid Foundation ($60). After coming across it again during my regular beauty researching (aka shopping), I decided to pick it up.

Monthly Favourites – July 2016

The end of July means we’re starting to approach the end of summer in Canada. For me, it’s actually quite exciting because fall is definitely my favourite season but for now, lets recap the products I love during the height of the Canadian summer:

Monthly Favourites – July 2016

NUDESTIX – Skin Glossing Pencil

I’m a total sucker for a good multitasking product. With so many different beauty bits to choose from, it’s nice to be able to check off multiple boxes with one product. One of my favourites at the moment is the NUDESTIX Skin Glossing Pencil ($28) to add radiance to my cheeks, lips and eyes.

Laura Mercier & NARS – New Favourite Base Combination

I walked into Sephora after a long day of work to unwind in my happy place. I’ve had my makeup on for 11 hours now without any touch-ups. Just as I start to pick up some new bits of makeup I hear someone say, “what foundation are you wearing, your skin looks flawless.” Shocked, as I also have a stress-induced zit making a home on chin, I look up and see one of the Sephora employees waiting for an answer – that’s when you know you’ve truly found a great base combination.

Too Faced – Cocoa Contour Kit

There are a lot of contour & highlight palettes out there that contain tons and tons of different shade, most of which a lot of people realistically won’t use on a daily basis. That being said, I searched high and low for a streamlined contour palette that is more simplified for daily use. Enter the Two Faced Cocoa Contour Chiseled To Perfection ($50) in Light to Medium. With two contour shades and two highlight shades, this is definitely one of the more simple palettes available.

Tarte x Grav3yardgirl Swap Queen Palette & New Sephora Opening

Happy Friday everyone! Yesterday I went to the opening of the new Sephora store at Yonge & Eglinton (in Toronto). I live in the area and I also grew up in the area so the fact there is now a Sephora steps away from my couch is incredibly exciting (and dangerous for my bank account).

Urban Decay – Vice Lipsticks

When a beauty brand announces that they are launching 100 new and reformulated lipstick shades – makeup lovers from around the globe perk up and come to attention. With so many colours to choose from in six different formulas, I had to get my hands on the Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks ($21) the second I could.

New Mascaras – Charlotte Tilbury & Smashbox

Over the past month or so I’ve been testing two mascaras – the Legendary Lashes Mascara from Charlotte Tilbury ($38) and the Smashbox Indecent Exposure Mascara ($25). I’m usually not a mascara girl but I recently started the hunt for the best of the best. We all want mascara to work miracles on our lashes – extend, define, add volume – and I’m taking on the challenge to find the mascara that does that perfect job.

NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balms

The warm weather is coming. Jackets and boots are coming off and it's time to transition to summer makeup. The new multitasking Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balms from NUDESTIX ($28) are just what you need as we move into the summer months.

Lippies, Love and Lattes with NUDESTIX

As regular readers of my blog or Instagram and Twitter followers will know, I LOVE a good NUDESTIX product. Last Thursday, the fantastic NUDESTIX team was gracious enough to invite me to a press brunch to get the low down on all the cool products and campaigns they have coming up.

The Estée Edit By Estée Lauder – Flash Photo Powder

There is a new collection from Estée Lauder in town and I was instantly attracted to it. Aimed at the millennial generation with it-girls Kendall Jenner and Irene Kim at the helm, The Estée Edit’s hip collection of beauty products have been at the top of my wish list for a few weeks now. The one product that really caught my eye was the Flash Photo Powder ($40). It’s not everyday that you see “oil-absorbing” and “brightening” on the same product, so I had to try it out.

NUDESTIX Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencils

I get extremely excited when there’s a new NUDESTIX launch. I’m a huge fan of the brand and I have an obsession with matte lips – so the new Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencils ($28) are the perfect launch for me.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate

There are the products you love right away, the ones you never want you use again and the ones that grow on you. Even though I took my time with this product, I have definitely fallen in love with this formula. I’ve been using the Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(marcable) Foundation Concentrate ($69) for about six months now and I am so excited to share my full review.

Charlotte Tilbury – Matte Revolution Love Liberty

Every Autumn/Winter one new dark/berry lipstick becomes my go-to colour for the seasons. For 2015, it has definitely been the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick in Love Liberty ($38).

MAC – Ellie Goulding

The second I saw MAC’s Ellie Goulding collection I was sold. The neutral colours, the bronze glow and the chic packaging all from my current music obsession – perfect!

Too Cool For School – Dinoplatz Lost Identity Lip Tint

It was my birthday last month and my boyfriend decided to cash out my Sephora online shopping cart as part of my gift – I always fill my cart with every item I'm even remotely interested in so this was an amazing gift!

Two Powders, Two Price Points, Two Loves

I’ve said it before on this blog but I don’t think I can say it enough – I absolutely need to finish my makeup with a powder. Besides locking in my makeup and helping to reduce shine through my t-zone, I think it just makes my complexion more even and my makeup more cohesive.

Maybelline Lip Studio Color Blur - Ombre Lips

This whole ombre lip trend has been all over Instagram and the Maybelline Lip Studio Color Blur ($12) has been the go-to product for achieving the look. I love a good drug store lip product, and Maybelline makes some of the best, so I had to give this a whirl.
